Fashion illustration in advertising is nothing new, but I’m still always pleasantly surprised to see it used by mass retailers. Imagine my joy at finding a little painted sketch right on the cover of JCPenny’s newest catalogue. More of the stylized darlings were sprinkled throughout the pages. I am a fashion illustration snob, so although I don’t think they’re the best drawings I’ve ever seen, I do loving finding fashion illustrations in unexpected places like greeting cards or at my local shopping mall, or in this case right in my mailbox! Here are a few more drawings from the JCPenny Spring 2015 catalogue.
What do you think of the drawings? Does finding fashion illustration in unexpected places make you happy too?
