My First Fashion Sketch using The Cintiq

My first fashion sketch on CintiqLast night I got a Cintiq 22HD computer screen, the amazing new product that allows you to draw directly on the screen with a special Wacum pen. It’s every designer dream. It’s certainly been my dream to own one ever since I heard about the product. I haven’t had enough time to give it a well thought out review, so let me just say that drawing on it this morning brought tears to my eyes. These weren’t the tears of frustration I’ve had trying to understand and use Adobe Photoshop. No, these were tears of joy. I mean it! I actually started crying in the midst of this drawing. It was just so easy, so simple, so WONDERFUL.

I’m in love!

The drawing is based on the fashion blog Bittersweet colors. As soon as I saw her newest post, Black and Tangerine, I knew I wanted to sketch one of the photos.

This is day seven of my drawing a day challenge.

You are blessed! I’ve been writing grants, about to launch a Kickstarter, selling cookies, washing cars in the hope of one day purchasing one!

    Happy Drawings!

Yes, lucky you! Would be completely envious if I didn’t know that the long hours learning and perfecting your skills have more than earned you this great tool! Really looking forward to seeing how you do it!

Wow, Heather, how wonderful that you now have this tool! I can imagine your delight. And what beautiful drawings you make!
I had sort of a personal challenge (just for myself) of one drawing a day. I succeeded from last november till march. Then all my travelling became too time-consuming and overwhelming to keep up. Have yet to resume that daily sketch habit. Loved it though!
Looking forward to seeing more of your sketches!

Thanks Curly Traveller. I so appreciate you stopping by and checking out my site. This daily drawing challenge has been hard. I need to do it to get used to drawing on the Cintiq. Even though it’s great I’m still so used to drawing on a piece of paper that I’m having a hard time not going back to that. the challenge is forcing me to try new things though. I think that’s one of the great things about it.

I couldn’t do a year though! I’m impressed that you made it so long.
